Software, hardware and other things I use day to day.
Inspired by James Brooks, Freek Murze and many other developers I’ve put together this list of hardware, software and services that I use. I'll Keep this list up to date if anything changes over time
Development
PHPStorm
The go to IDE for all PHP Developers out there. Ive tried a number of different IDE's over the years but this one has been the best
Docker
One of our most used day to day pieces of software. I'd say 90% of our projects are currently build and run on docker containers.
iTerm2
A true upgrade from terminal, iTerm2 has some great features and plenty of addons that allow you to customise it to your needs.
Sequel Ace
I was a big fan of Sequel Pro before the stopped updating it, Sequel Ace is a forked version that is currently being maintained.
TablePlus
Another DB GUI that I uses for when I need to setup to connections to Redis, Postgres or various other DBs that Sequel Ace doesn't support.
Herd
One of the latest additions to my development flow, it makes setting up new sites a breeze, its getting loads of updates on a regular basis and having multiple PHP support out the box is superb.
Hardware
CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt 4 Dock
After spending some time looking into what dock to buy this one was highly recommend. It has plenty of ports a SD card reader and a small surface area.
Appple Macbook Air 13" M3 (2024), 24GB RAM, 1TD SSD
The Macbook Air is my day to day machine for a few months now. It has superb battery life and a really scrips screen. I'm honestly really surprised how well this machine copes with the workload thats thrown at it.

My day to day headphones for all video calls, podcast recordings and listening to music. They are comfortable and have a great sound

The Scarlett 2i2 powers the SM7B, it has a 2 in and 2 out interface and looks great on the desk.
Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad for Mac - White
Touch ID makes this so keyboard so useful from quickly unlocking the mac to quickly accessing 1password and other applications. It also helps that its a nice keyboard to type on

A handy device that allows me to take notes like im writing on paper. The pen feels like a normal pen and the e-ink screen is wonderful to use.
Mac Studio Display with Tilt Stand
Apples latest 5K monitor, the screen itself is a lovely piece of hardware it has a really scrips screen, good speakers and a built in camera. I currently have 2 being used daily
Shure SM7B
A great microphone the sound that comes out of this thing. A bit overboard for my daily google meets but will come into its own on my podcasts.
