Today was meant to be a 1 1/2 hour TrainerRoad session. This was the last session of week 6 of the build phase im currently working through. The sessions name is Augusta and is a muscle endurance workout.
Due to having to be up at 4am and a long drive to see a client and then back on the same day I cut this session down to the Augusta -2 so the same type of work out but only an hour long instead of 1 1/2 hours. It was a tough session and one that works close to 95% FTP for three long intervals and then a short recovery in between.
I got through the session on my TT bike as thats what I currently have setup on the Kickr, it felt like a good session and I go through each of the 95% intervals the last one being the toughest. I think having the cycling on the TV at the same time really did help. My foam roller session afterwards as well really helped and i’ve started to use this regularly and have noticed a significant improvement in my muscle tiredness the next day.
Tomorrow I have a track session booked in at derby for my stage 1 accreditation and then heading to Halesowen for the Beacon RCC Track Championship which im hoping to be able to enter at least one race thanks to getting the stage 1 done earlier in they day.
So it’s a early night for me tonight to be ready for my early drive to derby for the session.
